What could be better than being asked by Nicola to sample and write about beauty products for the mature person?
Being Nicola's Mum, 50 something, divorced and still working full time, means that I still want to look good and kid people that i'm a decade younger. I'm lucky to be blessed with good genes, drink loads of water and try and avoid the daily office cakes round. My skin and how I look is really important to me but I am also on a budget.
I've been sampling some fantastic products and am now swapping some of my old time favourites for a new generation of beauty products.

Lipstick is extremely important to me.... in fact the most important make up item.I have had a severe eye allergy to house dust and dustmites for years and can't wear any eye make up. This used to be a huge deal for me, but I soon discovered that if I wore a good lipstick that didn't come off all day and bright colours, then people would look at my lips rather than my small piggy looking eyes.
I hadn't tried any new brands of lipsticks for a long time and this was a revelation. Although it has a lovely translucent look and the colour seems to match any outfit, it sticks. I can be in the office early and have two or three cups of tea and the lipstick hasn't shifted. It doesn't feather either and looks natural.
Ten out of Ten and worth the price of £21!

I'm lucky to have started having waxing at aged 17 and pride myself on my smooth and hair free legs. I am always on the look out for a body cream although have to admit am very bad at remembering to exfoliate first. Still, I always cover my body in cream after a shower (extravagant but worth it). I have been trialling Emma Hardie Amazing Face Super Rich Body Butter. I'm a new convert to Emma Hardie. All of her creams have a lovely smell and you just know that you are putting a quality product on your body.
This product is a new body butter which combines marine actives, moisturisers, shea butter and essential oil aromas of Citrus Jasmine and Rose. My skin feels silky and smells gorgeous. In fact Nicola and I had a bit of a tiff about who would have this product as she is also an Emma Hardie fun. Fortunately, Mum won!
Balance Me Daily Essential Intensive Wrinkle Repair Cream

I'm really fussy about my face creams and like a natural one which is a good base for my foundation. I was sent Balance Me Daily Essential Intensive Wrinkle Repair Cream. I have to say that it delivers. I've been using it for two weeks and my skin is glowing. It sinks into the skin very quickly and my foundation always looks good over it. I'm a busy working girl.... 8am in the office, so can't hang around when doing my make up.
The cream is rich and hydrating and sold as an anti-aging moisturiser. Balance Me promotes a radiant, healthy and youthful looking skin. I can definitely see a diffierence and will carry on using this product. It's also not too expensive at £30.
