What's she going to wear???

The big question on everyone lips is what Kate's Middleton's dress is going to look like and who the designer will be. I'm equally obsessed by the makeup brands that she'll be using and the fragrance she'll choose.

Kate has supposedly told the press (you can never be sure if they make these things up or not) that she will be doing her own makeup. If this is true then she is one brave lady...although she will no doubt have had a whole bunch of lessons because the makeup not only has to impress her Prince but look absolutely flawless in all the photos of the big day. This means that she'll definitely need to adapt her usual makeup routine.

Rumour has it that Kate has bought quite a lot of makeup from Laura Mercier which is a brand that I love. Their stuff is great for achieving a natural bridal glow. She's also been seen in Space NK which stocks a whole host of great brands and relaxing candles and bath stuff (which may come in handy tonight when she needs some pre-wedding relaxation time).

If you fancy smelling like Kate then you need to get hold of a bottle of Clive Christian's No.1 Perfume. Wills and Kate have been given his and hers versions of the scent in stunning bottles with their initials etched in gold. She may of course go for a traditional Royal Wedding Fragrance tomorrow such as Grossmith's Betrothal which was created for the wedding of Princess Mary to George V.

If I was her I'd go from something modern, sexy and devastatingly romantic. She needs to retain the tradition of the Royal Family whilst celebrating her youth, vitality and sense of fun.

Wedding Makeup Designed by Sarah Brock

My wedding is on 26th June. That's eight weeks tomorrow!

After a year of intense excitement and pleasure in being my own wedding planner I've just started to get stressed. I keep remembering little things that I need to do, we're running over budget and I'm also petrified of flying so rather than feeling excited about our forthcoming trip to Mauritius, all I can think of is that I'll be stuck 30,000 feet up in the sky, hyperventilating for twelve hours.

That not withstanding, there is someone that is keeping me sane and she goes by the name of Sarah Brock.

Sarah is one of the best and most renowned wedding makeup artists in the country and she's doing my wedding makeup..ahhhhhh!!! We had my trial a couple of weeks ago and she's totally down to earth, fun and truly talented.

Sarah very kindly agreed to share some of her wisdom on my blog so here ya go...some photos of my trial and must-know wedding makeup tips from Miss Sarah Brock! Enjoy!

1 - FOUNDATION:

* Always use a primer after moisturiser and before foundation, to help your makeup stay perfect all day
* Use a light reflecting sheer foundation, as thick formulations can 'slide' off the skin
* Apply your foundation with a brush for an 'airbrushed' finish to the skin
* Apply concealer after foundation, to under eye shadows and any blemishes
* Set your foundation with an invisible blotting powder to stay shine free for your photographs

2 - CHEEKS:

* To avoid looking 'orange', stay away from bronzer and choose a soft pink or peach tone for a pretty bridal glow
* If you have very oily skin, choose a powder formulation to avoid looking too shiny
* If you have normal/ dry skin, use a cream or liquid blusher for a soft, dewy look
* Smile in the mirror and apply to the apple of the cheek, blending upwards and outwards towards the hairline
* If you love highlighter, only use a tiny amount on the cheekbone and choose a formulation which isn't too shiny on the skin

3 - EYES:

* It is really important to apply powder to your eyelid after foundation - this will avoid your eyeshadow creasing
* For wedding makeup, it is best to choose light, pretty colours to keep the eyes looking brighter and younger
* Add the 'va va voom' with eyeliner - there are great waterproof eyeliner pencils on the market
* Always curl your eyelashes before you apply mascara and go for black waterproof formulations
* If you want to wear false eyelashes, individual lashes work better, as they look more natural than strip lashes

4 - LIPS:

* Apply lip balm to the lip area when you apply your moisturiser, this will keep lips soft and supple
* Apply a small amount of your face primer to your lips - this will help your lip colour last longer
* Go over the whole lip area with a lip pencil (rather than just a line around the outside) - this will give you a great base for lipstick
* Apply your lipstick with a lip brush - two to three coats is perfect and blot with a tissue in-between coats
* If you want to wear lip gloss - use your finger to 'pat' a small amount to the lips - this will stop the lips being too sticky

Early Mornings and Itches

It's 3.50 am and I'm at work having just eaten a banana and a disgusting bowl of Oatabix with hot chocolate (there's no milk at work because of the up and coming bank holiday!) It was really horrible and stodgy and I categorically don't recommend it!!

Anyway, just before I start my show I wanted to tell you about a weird ailment that I have. It's embarrassing but I like to share so here ya go....when I'm tired and/or stressed I get eczma at the top of my right buttock. I've never had it anywhere else and it is totally random and very annoying.

My best friend Nayanah who has suffered from eczma in the past (although I doubt it's on her right buttock) recommended Aveeno moisturising cream and it REALLY works. I've found that it gets rid of the problem totally and is really soothing. It's also a fab moisturising cream!

ps I usually wouldn't talk about my bottom but it's early and I'm slightly delirious. If my boss is reading this, don't worry..I promise not to talk about it on the radio!!

Kate Middleton Shine

Everywhere you look at the moment there is a picture of Kate Middleton and her shiny, silky, glorious mane of hair. Is it fake I ask myself...has she paid her hairdresser Richard Ward thousands of pounds to painstakingly apply hair extension after hair extension? Alas I think that the answer is no! Princess Catherine-to-be is one of those lucky girls who is blessed with the good hair gene (and enough money to have frequent hair treatments and cuts).

If you can't afford such luxuries then I wanted to tell you what I do when my hair needs a shiny boost and I want to do it on the cheap.

What you need:

Olive oil
bath hat
that's it!!

What you do:

Warm some olive oil on the stove in a saucepan. (Don't let it get too hot, it needs to be luke-warm!)

Put the warm oil in a bowl and apply it to your hair bit by bit. If you suffer from greasy hair then don't rub it too close to your scalp.

Put your bath hat on and relax for 10-20 minutes.

Wash your hair as usual

Voila...shiny hair fit for a princess for less than a pound!

Libertys Perfume Room

I've always been obsessed with perfume and how it can define how you feel and how others feel about you. Smell is for me the most powerful sense. If I smell the perfume that my beloved grandma Lily used to wear I am instantly transported back to being a child and cuddling up to her.

The right perfume can give you a desired air of sexiness and allure and the wrong one can repulse people or at the very least give them a headache. Women looking to be taken seriously at work might choose a powerful scent to show that they mean business and a woman who wants to seem flirty and girly can lose years with a spritz of Anais Anais.

I went to Libertys in search of my perfect wedding scent. I've decided that I want a whole new smell so that in the future every time I spritz myself with the perfume I'll be reminded of my wedding day. I got chatting to the fabulous Stuart who introduced me to a world of romantic scents from their endless collection of rare and wonderful perfumes.

I loved the Neroli scent at the Le Labo and was bewitched by Etra Etro by Etro Perfumi. Unfortunately my indecisiveness got the better of me and I left with nothing more than a bottle of Molecules 01 which is decidedly unweddingy but might be good for the wedding night as according to Stuart it makes the wearer irresistible to passers by and new husbands alike.

I'll be going back for another wedding day perfume search and will keep you posted!! In the meantime, any advice would be great!!
